One of the main questions travelers ask when coming to Ambergris Caye is the best mode of transportation. Unlike many destinations where you can plan on renting a car, the main way to get around San Pedro and the greater island is by golf cart!
At just 40km or 25 miles long, golf carts are an easy and convenient way to explore Ambergris Caye. Whether you want to visit Secret Beach, experience one of our popular restaurants, or simply get around San Pedro, golf carts make it easy to see the sights.
For your convenience we can set you up with a golf cart rental so that it’s ready and waiting for you. Just let us know when you make your reservation, and enjoy getting around on island time!

Whether or not it’s intentionally celebrated, winter solstice is recognized around the world. On a calendar December 21st marks the beginning of the winter season. But more importantly, it marks the beginning of daytime hours becoming longer. After months of shortened days, the extra sunlight is always warmly welcomed!
Here in the “Mundo Maya” (Maya World) winter solstice is especially important. With the sun being a deity and treated as a living being, the tracking of the sun was their way of understanding the universe. Time passing was so much more than counting down to the next vacation, but held religious importance.
We invite you to celebrate like a Mayan by visiting Belize! Not only can we coordinate tours to important Mayan ruins such as Xunantunich and Lamanai so you can learn more about the ancient civilization, but you can celebrate the sun’s return under the Caribbean’s warm rays! Contact us to book your winter solstice getaway.
There are endless reasons to choose Belize for your next holiday, from the friendly locals to the beaches and history hidden in the jungle! International Living has just released an article titled “The 13 Best Places to Visit in Belize” listing our beloved town, San Pedro.

While we’d like to think that work and vacation exist separately, “bleisure,” meaning business and leisure, is becoming increasingly popular in the travel industry. The reality is that many of us bring work on the road, or travel for business.
In a recent article by Belize Tourism, one of the stated benefits is that bleisure leads to more effective work since downtime is focused on relaxation and enjoyment. They list 6 main reason for choosing Belize for your next bleisure trip:
- Belize is very family friendly with activities geared to all ages
- You can do a lot in little time due to the size of the country
- It is easy to navigate and enjoy Belize as a solo traveler
- Short domestic flights make it simple to attend a conference in Belize City before spending a few days on Ambergris Caye
- Our take-it-easy pace reduces stress involved with conducting business
- Enjoy being immersed in our diverse cultures, so you take home more than the work you completed.
While travel is about exploration and relaxation, we know that convenience is a factor when it comes time to choose a destination. The number of flights, airports, and travel time can affect the length of your stay in a destination, as well as your overall enjoyment!
That is why we are excited to see more and more airlines adding flights to Belize (and within it) so that you can spend less time getting here, and more time soaking up everything we have to offer.
Aeromexico, Mexico’s global airline, announced yesterday that it will begin nonstop service to Belize City beginning on November 17th for the peak travel season. The airline’s Chief Revenue Officer commented, “we are very happy to celebrate this new route… [it is] another sign that we are working to offer better products to our customers, removing barriers between countries, regions, and people.”
In addition to the new flight from Mexico, Tropic Air also added new flights that began on August 1st making travel to Ambergris Caye even easier. There are now 15 daily flights between Belize City and San Pedro as often as every 30 minutes. To view flight times, please visit tropicair.com.
If you’ve been feeling some end of summer blues, we invite you to take advantage of these new flights and come visit us in sunny Belize! For rates and availability, we invite you to contact us.
